Guests staying overnight in the Baltic Sea resort of Sellin are required to pay a visitor's tax. As it is a municipal tax, it is not included in the rent for the holiday apartment.
In return for the tax, guests receive a spa card that provides numerous benefits and discounts not only in Sellin, but also in neighbouring seaside resorts. Sellin cooperates with the following resorts:
-
Baabe
-
Göhren
-
Mönchgut (Middelhagen, Thiessow, Gager etc.)
This means that the Sellin spa card is also accepted in these towns, and you don't have to pay a separate spa tax for day trips. There's also a collaboration with Binz regarding the beaches.
The following advantages are of particular interest:
-
Free access to all beaches in Sellin, on the Mönchgut peninsula and in Binz
-
Free use of the Bäderbahn (spa railway) in Sellin and Baabe
-
Free use of the Sellin South Beach Shuttle (operates only in summer)
-
Partial free use of bus lines 20/21, 25 and 29 (on routes in the south-east of the island)
-
Free use of the shuttle boat service between Sellin, Baabe, Thiessow and Gager (tickets must still be booked in advance)
